1. Overview

This policy explains what information RAGSCHOLAR AI SYSTEMS LIMITED (accessible at https://ragscholar.app, referred to as "RAGScholar," "we," or "us") collects when you use the site, how it's used, and who it's shared with. Our platform currently includes three products: RAGScholar (full research article generation), RAGProjects (chapter-by-chapter undergraduate project drafting), and RAGCompressor (condensing full projects into journal articles). We have no user accounts or logins — this policy covers what happens with the details you type into the forms, any files you optionally upload, and the information collected when you make a purchase.

We do not require an account, and we do not ask for or knowingly collect sensitive personal information (e.g. health data, government IDs) — please avoid including any personal data about yourself or others in the topic, instructions, or uploaded files beyond what's needed for your academic work.

3. How we use your information

We do not sell your information, and we do not use what you submit to train our own models.

4. Third parties we share data with

To generate your draft, the details you submit are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI's handling of that data is governed by OpenAI's own Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review.

To find real references, your topic is sent as a search query to Semantic Scholar and OpenAlex. See Semantic Scholar's Privacy Policy and OpenAlex's Privacy Policy.

To process payment, your email address and order amount are shared with our payment processors, Paystack and/or Flutterwave. Your card, bank, or mobile money details are entered directly on their own secure checkout pages and never pass through or get stored on our servers. See Paystack's Privacy Policy and Flutterwave's Privacy Policy.

If you purchase a plagiarism screening report, the plain text of your generated document is sent to Copyscape for scanning. See Copyscape's Privacy Policy.

Once your payment is confirmed, we use Resend to email you a link to your document. See Resend's Privacy Policy.

Before generating a document, we use Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm you're a real visitor rather than an automated script; this involves your browser exchanging some technical data with Cloudflare. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic, which sets cookies in your browser. See Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle that data.

5. Data retention

When you purchase a document, we store your topic/input details, author information, email address, generated document, payment status, and the IP address used to generate it, in a secure database. This lets us email you your document, let you re-access it via your confirmation link, respond to support requests, and investigate fraudulent activity. If you generate a preview but never complete payment, that unpaid draft is also stored in the same way, primarily so we can review it if fraud or abuse is suspected. (OpenAI, our payment processors, and our other service providers listed in Section 4 may separately retain request data briefly per their own policies, for abuse-monitoring or processing purposes, apart from what we store.)

6. Cookies

We use cookies solely for Google Analytics, to understand aggregate traffic to the site. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the tools will still function without them.

7. Your rights and choices

You can ask us to send you a copy of the order data we hold about you, correct inaccurate details, or delete your stored documents and personal information, by emailing support@ragscholar.app from the email address associated with your order. Note that deleting your order will also remove your ability to re-access that document via your confirmation email link, and we may need to retain minimal transaction records where required for payment/fraud-prevention or legal purposes even after a deletion request.

8. Children's privacy

Our platform is intended for students, researchers, and academics generally, and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
