1. Acceptance of these terms

RAGSCHOLAR AI SYSTEMS LIMITED (accessible at https://ragscholar.app, referred to as "RAGScholar," "we," or "us") provides a suite of AI-assisted academic drafting tools. Our platform currently includes three products: RAGScholar (full research article generation), RAGProjects (chapter-by-chapter undergraduate project drafting), and RAGCompressor (condensing full projects into journal articles). By using any of these services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.

2. What our platform does

Our tools use AI language models to help you structure and draft academic content based on the inputs you provide:

• RAGScholar generates a structured draft research paper (abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion, and references) based on your topic and methodology.
• RAGProjects generates undergraduate project chapters sequentially, adapting to Nigerian university departmental requirements.
• RAGCompressor takes an uploaded, complete student project and summarizes it into a 20-page journal article format using only the content provided in the upload.

These are drafting aids, not research services. We do not conduct original research, collect real data on your behalf, or guarantee the accuracy of any generated content.

3. AI-generated content: please verify everything

The content our platform produces is generated by an AI language model and is provided as a starting draft only. Like any AI system, it can:

• State things confidently that are inaccurate or outdated
• Generate references that look real but may be incomplete, mismatched, or fabricated (unless sourced from our live academic search partners)
• Produce statistics, figures, or study results that are illustrative rather than real, when you have not supplied your own data

You are responsible for fact-checking, verifying every reference, and validating any data or statistics before relying on, submitting, or publishing anything we generate. Every generated draft includes a disclaimer to this effect — please don't remove it or treat the output as a finished, verified document.

4. Academic integrity

Our tools are meant to help you structure and draft your own work faster — not to be submitted as-is in place of your own writing. You're responsible for complying with your institution's, publisher's, or journal's policies on the use of AI tools and for properly attributing your work. Passing off unedited AI output as your own original research may violate academic integrity rules that apply to you; that's between you and your institution, not something we can determine for you.

5. Acceptable use

Please don't use our platform to:

• Generate content for illegal purposes, or content that is defamatory, hateful, or harassing
• Attempt to overload, scrape, or abuse the service (e.g. automated bulk requests)
• Misrepresent AI-generated content as verified, peer-reviewed, or human-authored research when submitting it elsewhere
• Upload projects to RAGCompressor that you do not have the right to use or summarize

We may limit or suspend access for anyone misusing the service.

6. Intellectual property — platform ownership

The RAGScholar platform, including its name, logo, domain (ragscholar.app), website design, source code, underlying prompts, generation architecture, and all associated software, is the exclusive proprietary property of RAGSCHOLAR AI SYSTEMS LIMITED (RC number on file), a company duly registered under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

All rights are reserved. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the platform, its code, its design, or its underlying systems — other than the limited right to use the service as a paying customer for your own personal or professional drafting purposes.

7. Prohibited conduct — cloning, scraping, and reverse engineering

You may not, directly or through any third party:

• Copy, reproduce, replicate, or clone any part of the RAGScholar, RAGProjects, or RAGCompressor interfaces or generation systems for any purpose
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code, prompts, or logic underlying the service
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract content, structure, or outputs from the platform at scale
• Build a competing product or service that replicates or is substantially derived from our design, functionality, or outputs
• Sublicense, sell, resell, transfer, or commercially exploit the platform or any part of it without our express written permission
• Use outputs generated by our platform to train, fine-tune, or benchmark any AI or machine learning model without our express written permission

Any unauthorised use of the kind described above constitutes a breach of these Terms and an infringement of RAGSCHOLAR AI SYSTEMS LIMITED's intellectual property rights. We reserve the right to pursue all available legal remedies under Nigerian law and applicable international law.

8. Your content and ownership

You retain ownership of the topic, instructions, uploaded projects, and any data you submit, as well as the drafts we generate for you based on those inputs. We do not claim ownership over your generated papers. However, you grant us a limited licence to process your inputs through our systems for the purpose of generating your draft and delivering it to you.

9. Payment, refunds, and access

Our platform is a paid service. Pricing varies depending on the product used (e.g., flat rate for RAGScholar, per-chapter pricing for RAGProjects, flat rate for RAGCompressor, and optional paid add-ons like plagiarism screening). Payments are processed securely by Paystack or Flutterwave. Once you have completed payment and your document has been unlocked and delivered, the transaction is final and non-refundable. If you experience a technical failure that prevents you from accessing your document after confirmed payment, contact us at support@ragscholar.app and we will resolve it promptly.

10. Third-party services

We send the details you submit to third-party providers in order to deliver the service — including OpenAI (AI generation), Semantic Scholar and OpenAlex (academic literature search), Copyscape (plagiarism screening, where purchased), Paystack and Flutterwave (payment processing), Resend (transactional email), and Cloudflare (bot protection). We also use Google Analytics to understand site usage. See our Privacy Policy for details. Your use of our platform is also subject to those providers' own terms where applicable.

11. No warranty; limitation of liability

Our platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, RAGSCHOLAR AI SYSTEMS LIMITED and its directors, officers, and employees are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, academic consequences, disciplinary outcomes, or losses arising from your use of, or reliance on, content generated by this tool.

12. Changes to the service or these terms

We may update our features, pricing, or these Terms from time to time. Continuing to use the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of our platform shall first be referred to good-faith negotiation between the parties. If unresolved within 30 days, it shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
